Target asset classes for investments by the Company include unlisted equities (long and short term), private equity, and venture capital investments.  There are no fixed investment diversification ratios.

The investment strategy of the Company is to:

• identify equity investments in growing businesses which would benefit from acquisition and development by the Company;
• ensure there is an appropriate mix of investments held by the Company;
• maximise tax effectiveness and investment; and
• provide access to multi-asset class investments, private equity opportunities, active investments in unlisted equities and other alternate investments through the company. The Board works with the investment manager, John Bridgeman Limited, to determine the terms and conditions, policies and procedures for approving any investment opportunity.

In implementing the investment strategy, the investment manager takes into account all of the circumstances relevant to the investment, including:

• risks and likely returns associated with each investment;
• range and diversity of investments;
• any risks coming from limited diversification;
• the liquidity of the investments;
• expected cash flow requirements; and
• the ability of the company to meet its existing and prospective liabilities, such as paying dividends, and returns to investors.

The Company’s portfolio of investments will be managed actively, combining the goals of capital preservation with a reasonable risk adjusted return.
